The nostalgia or "homesickness" is a sentiment often including a melancholy accompanied by a curse compared to memories which are often linked to the places of childhood that it evokes through an enjoyment which is painful. André Bolzinger has traced the history of this concept, created in 1688 by Johannes Hofer, an alsatian doctor of 19 years, who dedicated to him a thesis of secondary school to the university of Bâli.

nostalgia is the scientific formulation of the "Heimweh", the homesickness of the swiss mercenary, tortured by the memory of the Heimat. Most of the time, this sentiment expresses the regret of times past, of places missing, to which we associate a posteriori pleasurable sensations. This lack is often caused by the loss or recall of these past elements, the two elements, the most frequent being the remoteness of space and the ageing population, which represents a distance in time. It has been diagnose in nostalgia in all its forms the regret of childhood.
