Oncoguide is a digital decision support available as an app for tablet and as a website. The information in Oncoguide is based on the oncological guidelines. These guidelines are presented in Oncoguide as digital decision trees that lead to recommendations for diagnostics and treatment. By feeding these decision trees with individual patient and disease characteristics, Oncoguide guides the health care professional step by step to a treatment advice. At each step relevant considerations are indicated and substantiated deviation from the guideline can be made. These treatment advice is to support the multidisciplinary consultation (mdo) and the shared decision-making with the patient, in which the context and preferences of the patient are taken into account.

With Oncoguide it is possible to:
• consult the treatment options easily and quickly.
• use the information for decision making together with the patient
• to substantiate, document and / or evaluate a treatment advice
• use the information for (the preparation of) (multidisciplinary) consultations

New functionalities:
• The link with Prediction models. To coordinate treatments with the individual patient, doctors can use guidelines and prediction models. Evidencio and IKNL have together made the models available in Oncoguide. This provides the doctor and patient with better support in decision making about the treatment.
• The ability to link to external sources (such as the substantiation on Oncoline)
• The linking of trials (now still manual, an automatic solution is being worked on)

New content:
• Prostate cancer guideline
• Guideline cervical cytology, CIN, AIS and VAIN
• Update breast cancer guideline (2012 -> 2018)
• New trials in colorectal carcinoma (CAIRO6, COLDFIRE-2, COLOPEC2, COLOR III, FUTURE and PUMP)

The information in the decision trees is based on digital sources of knowledge, including the oncological guidelines. In the future, more sources will be added, such as trial databases for trial alerts, the Dutch Cancer Registry (NKR) and data on side effects of medicines. Oncoguide is classified as a medical device and has a CE marking.

The Oncoguide App gives you access to a central system. This ensures that you always have the most up-to-date content. IKNL facilitates health care professionals in the management. Oncoguide is designed in such a way that coupling with EPDs becomes possible in the future.
