The Software of Detection of Pests is an innovative project for research and application in agribusiness, coordinated by Prof. Robson Soares Silva of the Software Factory UFMS Ponta Pora, and developed by the student of computer Science Willians Magalhães Primo, aims to indicate the possibility of the existence of a particular pest and the main characteristics of the same. So the producer should look for a specialist to see if the suspicion is true or not, because there can be situations where certain images are still not able to be fully detected by the application.
Other students at the UFMS Ponta Pora are being integrated into the project and starting the participation in research of other diseases. This project is innovative because it merges the capabilities of mobile computing with the computer vision to be used in agribusiness, for the detection of pests.

Corresponds to a software with programming in the Java language and with computer vision algorithms for research on detection of pests through recognition of patterns in images of the plants. It is important to note that this application must be used in conjunction with a specialist to be able to really do the analysis and to verify the existence or not of the disease, it indicates the disease is suspected, where remembering is not responsible for the combat to the same, where only an expert can indicate the real existence of the disease and the way in how to stop it.
At the time the application is programmed to indicate the possibility of two types of pests to soybean (eye of frog and rust asiatic), and four types of plagues for citrus fruit (halo reach, verrugose, cancer, citric acid and melanose). From now on we will be increasing the database of diseases, that he might soon be able to indicate the possibility of detecting the main in the country and other places in the world. The existing schedule allows you to detect diseases through the image, simply increase the base image.
Brazil is The world leader in agribusiness, and we believe that with the return of the farmers we will be improving the algorithms to increase the performance of the application that we anticipate by the middle of the year to be a reference in this area, to detect the disease in the major productions of the country, as in our research it is unique in Brazil with this standard of performance and operation.
