When inside Elemental Dungeon, you temporarily become an Elementalist. As one of the game's primary playable characters, you use the power of nature to fight off enemies and uncover greater truths about the elements. This game combines all six basic elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, Ice and Darkness. Users can equip up to three elements at once; combining them grants even more powerful spells. By combining all three elements, you generate the most powerful magic. Additionally, you can create elemental shields by pressing the elementlong press on the Temple. Doing this upgrades the element and activates special effects.

In this video game, players navigate dungeons much like Soul Knight. You navigate through a variety of checkpoints via your expertise. When you perish, everything reverts to the starting line with exception to the dungeon which rolls the dice for a random result. On the way to the shop, you can access new spells and elements by combining them. This is how characters improve their stats. They don’t improve through equipment; instead, the nearby shop unlocks new options. In this game, you navigate the world using a virtual joystick and buttons that combine to form an abstract combination. Pressing the left and right side buttons allows you to use skills. Doing so requires coordinating movements with two joysticks.

In Elemental Dungeon, currencies include Energy, Coins and Gems. Premium currency gems are used to buy new characters, upgrade elements, purchase skins and other bonuses. You can earn a limited amount of these by doing quests. Alternatively, you can purchase them for real money or get unlimited using an unofficial MOD APK version. Dungeons can only exchange energy for other currencies. Killing a boss grants the player some energy, while upgrading an element on the Temple improves energy earned. Coins are only usable in dungeons; they're reset when the player dies or leaves the game. They can be earned by clearing enemies and can be spent at Temple or shops.

Unlocking new characters such as Bomber, Mage, Hunter and Ronin helps differentiate Elemental Dungeon from other story-based games. These characters provide players with different abilities and characteristics that aren’t present in the original story. As a young mage, Mage is full of curiosity and determination. The second playable character in the game is Ronin. You can unlock him by spending 600 gems. Ronin is a warrior with mysterious powers. Unlock this old hunter by powering her with 12,000 power chips. You can purchase Bomber for 900 gems. He always vandalizes with explosions.

The game Elemental Dungeon wouldn't have the same meaning if it weren't for the old school pixel graphics and sound. It makes you feel cold and dark in the deep dungeons, sense the power of magic as well as danger lurking inside the door about to be crossed.

The freemium game Elemental Dungeon is pretty hardcore. You don't have to spend any money to play it, but you do have to put in the time to gather resources. I think this will be difficult, because each time you play the game, you'll find harder dungeons and collect more powerful spells and items.
