HISTORY:

It is narrated that the Ka'bah was first created by the Angels, then Adam, then Seth, and then Ibrahim and Ismail. In the next two thousand years, it was rebuilt by the Amalekites, Jurhum, Qusay, and Quraysh. Abdullah Ibn Al-Zubair rebuilt it in 64 H/683 CE. The final form was by Al-Hajjaj Ibn Yusuf Al-Thaqafi. During the Ottoman period the Ka'bah was damaged by floods and was rebuilt by Sultan Murad Khan. Most recently repairs were carried out by the late King Fahad bin ‘Abdul Aziz.
