Long ago, Arthur's kingdom peacefully lived with the supernatural for more than 1,000 years. But soon after, the scary creatures started invading and ransacking the land. To help the king maintain peace in his kingdom, players in Kingdom of Hero: Tactics War work hand-in-hand with him and other powerful fighters. Each battle requires strategic thinking, as well as the ability to handle extremely powerful blows from foes.

A chessboard-like map of the Kingdom of Hero: Tactics War is divided into hexagonal shapes. Many refer to this as the Hexagon Battlefield. When playing the game from a turn-based perspective, players can move characters around the board by determining their location when it's their turn. Heroes automatically attack any nearby enemies. Remember that you can only place a hero in a single square area. You can't move into or choose a hexagon that already has an ally or enemy in it. You also can't select a hexagonal shape if someone else already occupies one. Selecting a target and choosing the applicable skill is also necessary when moving. The game provides this information through the colors of arrows during each turn. Additionally, assessing enemy strength through hero power differences is possible through game mechanics. This can be done by clicking enemies to view their details. Your heroes need energy to use skills. Pay attention to the amount of energy your characters have because the color of the energy arrows in the lower right corner of the screen tells you how much energy they have. When an arrow is blue, your heroes have enough energy to use their skill. However, when an arrow turns yellow, your heroes are running low on energy.

In Heroes of the Kingdom of Hero: Tactics War, each character has up to four special skills, one common skill and a passive ability. Skills are classified as fighter, archer, wizard, priest or guardian. The game features five classes— fighter, wizard, archer, priest and guardian. Each class has one to four skills with different effects and results. Another thing to consider when choosing a hero class is their attack range. Each hero has an attack range that you need to consider when making your selection. The Archer and Wizard have longer attack ranges than other classes; this can be seen in their information cards. And if a hero's attack range is zero, you need to be standing next to the enemy hexagon to damage them. This is true for Heroes of the Fighter — the only class with this restriction.

Kingdom of Hero: Tactics War features a Runes system similar to many other games within the same genre. This system allows players to create new gems, enhance existing gems or create new runes. Once these are equipped on a hero, they provide them with additional stats such as increased blue gem damage rate. Unlocking gems in the game or opening them manually is easy to do; especially with patience and time. Finish Arena or Dungeon stages with high scores to earn rewards. Then adventure with King Arthur and his strongest knights to destroy monsters, find the last boss and protect the kingdom. ———
