In its status as a reciter he was given the title of Sheikh al-Maqâri (scientist reciters), and his opinion is often sought and quoted by the media.He was also invited to participate in the World of Islam Festival in London (1976). Recording the voice of Shaykh al-Husary is widely distributed outside Egypt.As one of the four reciters of the top-level in Egypt, it records the complete text of the Qur'an in the second style of recitation, murattal (tartiil) and mujawwad (tajwid) and he was the first person to record and publish style murattal.Shaykh al-Husary is known for the truthfulness of the recitation (tajwid).Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary was one of the reciters of the most esteemed in his time. A serial film “Imam Al Moqr'ine”, starring Hassan Youssef, was dedicated to the life and devotion Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary.
