The meaning of Tawasul is to get closer or plead with Allah SWT through wasilah (intermediary) who has a good position in the sight of Allah SWT. Wasilah used can be in the form of the name and nature of Allah SWT, good deeds that we do, the essence and the position of the prophets and pious people, or it could also ask for prayer to His pious servants. Allah SWT
say:
* وَابْتَغُوا إِلَيْهِ الْوَسِيلَة *
Meaning: And look for a way that draws near (Wasilah)
to Him. (Al-Maidah: 35)
