Anonymous people share these stories by stating that someone has a friend who has this story. People will never know who this friend is and no effort is made to do so. Regardless of whether you believe it or not, these stories continually haunt you. Many games utilize these stories from urban legends. Recently, I tried playing one called Urban Legend Hong Kong that continues to haunt me.

The Urban Legend Hong Kong story begins when Ronnie, a young man working as a milk tea deliveryman, falls in love with a young woman who frequents his workplace. During random moments, their romance blurs the line between reality and fiction. Ultimately, their relationship proves to be another layer of mystery in an already complex plot. You’ve always seen a bit of an odd personality from her. She had lots of strange requests at your store, and she frequently broke down in tears on the phone. You and this girl seemed to have some kind of strange connection, and gradually started getting to know each other better. Eventually, you two began developing a deeper relationship outside of just being customers and service people. Your first love vanishes out of the blue, leaving you devastated. Your life arcs off in a new direction. After the girl suddenly appeared and then disappeared, you became confused, depressed and in a state of crisis. You were determined to figure out what happened to her despite being unsure of what would become of you if you were to be abandoned. So, you focused your time, energy and resources on investigating her disappearance. And your search led you to a desolate land where living was too burdensome. You must continue your journey now; can you resist? Will you stop before it's too late?

A frightening story is attached to an addictive computer game that users can access through an appealing backstory. This story's supporting characters each have personal anecdotes that add to the plot. By following these side stories, you can choose different outcomes. The decisions you make in the game affect the story. Each choice, action or word affects how the story continues to develop and change. This leads to an alternate ending possible if specific decisions are made. Think carefully, put yourself in the character's position to produce believable results. Do this both logically and instinctively.

The creator of Urban Legend Hong Kong took inspiration from many classic television shows and movies made in Hong Kong. Some of these movies include ATV and TVB productions. In addition to the familiar sights, sounds, and colors, the game's creator also included modern touches like the wide open alleys and high-rise apartment buildings. The game takes place in a dimension where retro styles coexist with contemporary retro designs. This juxtaposition of styles makes the scenes in the game eerily creepy. Although American horror games tend to be darker, they're still not as creepy as this setting. In addition to startling players, these retro styles make it hard for viewers to discern what's going on at night. ———
