STORY

People often wonder why Carmageddon is both violent and enjoyable. The reason is that players can discover odd hidden features when they knock over pedestrians or smash other cars on the road. These features could be either funny or embarrassing. Max Damage and Die Anna are your two characters; they have 30 different looks and cars that can be unlocked. Your main goal as a racer is to complete all the race's objectives and rank up. After earning 36 laps through 99 circuits, a racer will start the ranking system. Each time a racer completes a race and gains additional credits, their rank will increase by one. Subsequently, racers are able to choose from 36 races to enter during each competition. Be mindful of the particular race because all of its competitors intend to harm you instead of to compete. Also keep in mind that they're not there to win; they're only after ruining your vehicle.

Run-away missions with a punch.

It's more interesting to see what the objectives are than to wait until the race time runs out. Players must complete all three objectives in order to win the race, but it's more exciting to see what the missions are than to drive until the line "Time Ends." Every race has three goals in common. These concepts exist across all races and can be referenced below. Competitors have to crash through checkpoints or destroy cars to earn extra time and points. This is easier said than done, of course. Players have to also destroy opponents' cars or knock pedestrians out cold. Destroying first-place cars or passing checkpoints is the first step toward achieving the second and third objectives. Over 400 people are on the map; they’ll try to get out of the way if they sense danger. Because this is the Hardest Mission, killing pedestrians is considered a major feat. Behaviors such as alternating between front and back, side to side, and early or delayed reactions appear independent of other creatures' characteristics.

It doesn’t appear that racing is as simple as it is.

Various locations can host the race, including Arizona deserts, coastal roads, mineshafts and chemical facilities. Each location features street furniture and a pretty sky above. Additionally, the race can take place at any time of the year. Levels feature a lot of obstacles to watch out for, including mines scattered throughout the course. Exploring these levels exposes various new obstacles you can face. In these modes, the cars bounce and bounce while trapped inside jelly traps. This can waste a lot of time getting out. Additionally, watch out for pins and double-edged swords that can damage your car. Plus, beware of opponents racing to control their cars— they'll smash into concrete barriers. Extra credits are awarded to players after earning a bonus. Many powerups grant additional benefits when run over, and a notification message appears on the screen. In addition to damage bonuses, the game features weapons that allow players to eliminate other cars or pedestrians, vehicles that let players drive underwater, and pedestrian bonuses such as "Extra style bonus!" and "Splatter bonus!" . There are also bonuses for driving head-on such as "Cunning stunt bonus!" and bonuses for pedestrians called "Extra style bonus!" and "Head-On bonus!" .

Various vehicles to acquire as a unlockable feature.

Both The Eagle and The Hawk are the starting vehicles for every player. The Hawk is a faster and more precise car than The Eagle; it's more useful for navigating fast-moving situations. A weaker version of the first, with more manageable difficulty. There are 30 vehicles that can be unlocked throughout the game. After finishing and winning races, you gain XP and unlock upgrades. The XP is awarded after passing checkpoints and attacking cars; it can also be earned by doing tricks, attacking pedestrians or destroying cars. During the race, you can use money to purchase upgrades— including repairs. Breaking your car and flipping it into a wreck costs coins to repair. This is because wrecking your car is expensive and flipping it isn’t any cheaper. To win more easily, players can purchase parts for their cars in the Parts Shop and improve their cars’ power, defense or offense stats.

A system of controls, in place to regulate the process.

The game is played in third-person view. It features touchscreen controls that are located at the bottom of the screen. These controls work well most of the time, but they can be problematic at times. Damage to cars and other stats are displayed on the top portion of the screen— which leaves players a large area to focus on the race. There are three control styles: digital, analog, which uses a bar that changes direction left and right and vertically up and down, and tilt, which utilizes rectangular areas for accelerating, braking and steering.

All items are available to be unlocked.

With access to all the game’s features now that Carmageddon has been unlocked, you no longer have to concern yourself with paying for additional features. Randomly select one of 30 cars and enjoy the race to the fullest.

DRAWBACKS

Some cars on the track display a slight shiny coat when players are playing. This leads to cars spinning out of control, which is frustrating and time-consuming. The analog and tilt controls are too responsive or not responsive enough. This causes the menus to freeze and players to have to restart the game. You won't be able to complete your mission of killing pedestrians on each map due to the amount of people available.

Graphics

Both the 1997 and 2017 versions of Carmageddon share all the same car models. Despite being set in the same world, the graphics look dated and worn out. The colors clash but still come together to form a pleasing whole. The game performs at high frame rates with both land and car shadows enabled or disabled.

Music

Long ago, the music in this game remained unchanged from the original release on PC. The music tracks come from Fear Factory and Lee Groves.

A closing remark or explanation.

Carmageddon Mod APK is a racing game with destructive aspects that aren't seen in many modern games. The 1997 version of the game is far better than what most people have today. If you like mindless violence with a retro arcade twist, this game is worth your time. ———
